Nicki Minaj will bring “Pink Friday” to North America this summer with a string of 14 tour dates.
The dates will be part of Minaj’s international tour supporting her sophomore album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 253,000 copies sold last month, according to Nielsen SoundScan. “Starships,” the album’s uptempo single, clocked in at No. 9 on the Hot 100 last week, and Minaj is next set to shoot a video for her Chris Brown collaboration “Right By My Side.”
Next Monday, a Pepsi marketing campaign that features Minaj’s 2010 track “Moment 4 Life” will be unveiled. “[Minaj] represents the kind of artist who’s in the moment, making things happen on her own terms,” says Frank Cooper, PepsiCo chief marketing officer of global consumer engagement.
The headlining trek kicks off on July 16 at the Chicago Theatre, and wraps up on Aug. 12 in Vancouver. The first tickets go on sale on Saturday (May 5).
