Lady Gaga will deliver the opening performance of the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. she made the announcement live in Time Square during her “MTV First: Lady Gaga” video premier.
Rather than deliver the news herself, fans outside the studio read the banner. “But I thought as usual, instead of me announcing it, I’d let the Little Monsters do it for me,” she said.
“It means the world to me,” Gaga said about opening the 2011 VMAs. “I just feel really blessed every day. I have the most amazing fans.”
Gaga is nominated for four VMAs, including Best Female Video and Best Video With a Message for “Born This Way,” as well as Best Art Direction and Best Choreography for “Judas.”
