Lizzo During a recent interaction with Buzzfeed for their “Celeb’s Puppy Interview” segment, Katy Perry, known for her hits such as “Dark Horse” and “Roar,” candidly shared her thoughts on the challenges of being a judge on “American Idol.” The 38-year-old pop sensation remarked on the difficulties of being the sole female judge on the panel, expressing a desire for strong opinions and female representation. Perry also reflected on the intense competition inherent in the show, noting that the talent level is so high that only one person can emerge as the winner, even though she sees all of the top 20 contestants as superstars. Perry, a stalwart on the “American Idol” judging panel since its 16th season along with co-judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, brought up a potential solution for increased female representation on the show. She stated her wish to invite Grammy-winning artist Lizzo to the panel, extending a personal invitation. With a hint of humor about feeling outnumbered by her male counterparts, Perry directly addressed Lizzo: “I’m asking you to join the panel. I could really use some bold, honest, hot takes.” The long-standing reality competition series recently concluded its 21st season, with the finale being broadcasted last Sunday, on May 21st.
